Parent‐toddler Playgroup
The (Waldorf) teachers are
committed to establishing good relationships with parents and to the process of
developing parenting skills. The
importance of a happy, smooth transition from home to school is recognized,
teachers working closely with parents to achieve this end. Teachers promote and emphasize
the importance of close partnerships with parents and provide a focus for
parent support.
The Parent-toddler Playgroup Program is currently integrated with the Kindergarten Program where the child experiences learning activities centered on the principles of Imitation, Rhythm and Creative Play. This is further supported by the important and reassuring presence of a parent or care-giver.
Not only is the child given an opportunity to be gently introduced into an educational system but this program allows the parent to be more integrated into the learning process as well. This creates an avenue for a possible seamless adaptation of lifestyle, nurturing and learning principles that would benefit the child from this early stages until he matures to a young adult.
